The prime minister Robinah Nabbanja has directed the UPDF engineering brigade undertaking the construction of Hoima Booma grounds and other Afcon 2027 training facilities in Bunyoro to speed up the works.
Nabbanja, who was touring the Hoima Booma grounds and Hoima hospital works, noted that the UPDF should adopt a 24-hour working schedule to ensure the completion of all the projects within the agreed time.

The Hoima regional referral hospital emergency ward under construction project is at 50%, according to the project manager, captain Jimmy Ankunda.
The prime minister was impressed with work progress, saying that the government wants to ensure all necessary projects are ready within time.
“These works must be completed by the end of this year. The government of Uganda is committed to seeing a successful Afcon tournament and all the necessary resources have been accorded,” noted Nabbanja.
The prime minister also visited the Hoima Booma grounds where Lt. Cosmas Isingoma, the project manager informed her that the project is at 75% completion.

While the prime minister commended the work, she was not happy with the progress, saying that the country is behind schedule.
“The UPDF Engineering brigade has to work day and night to have the projects completed in time,” she advised.
Hoima city woman member of parliament, Nyakato Asinansi equally wants the contractor undertaking Hoima-Kampala highway construction, Abubakar construction, to expedite the works in time since the works seem to have stalled over unknown reasons.
