Uganda’s highly ranked professional boxer Farahat Manirola has set his sights to the Olympics qualifiers after returning to the country from Russia where the silenced homeboy Georgii Chelokhsaev.
Manirola beat the Russian by unanimous decision on September 11, 2026 which was his second win over the opponent in six months.
It was the second victory in Russia against one loss and Manirola believes that the experience garnered will help him in the 2028 Olympics qualifiers when given a chance.
“I am a fighter and that is my job. Anyone who wants to take me on just reach out to my manager. I can fight anywhere but I also want to look forward to the 2028 Olympics qualifiers if given a chance by the federation,” noted Manirola.
With his manager Henry Damulira, the lightweight boxer says that he looks forward to representing the country at the biggest stage.
He also remains open to international fights, especially opportunities to challenge the best and for titles. Manirola wants to chalenge for World boxing council (WBC) Africa belt as next pro assignment.
The 26-year old has now won 14 times with nine coming as knockouts whilst losing four times.
Manirola’s travel to Russia was cleared by the Uganda boxing federation.
