Uganda Athletics has confirmed residential training camps for Ugandan athletes to this year’s Commonwealth Games due July 23rd to August 2nd in Glasgow, Scotland.

The three-week residential camps scheduled for June 29 to July 23 will see athletes train in different locations depending on their disciplines.

Sprinters will camp in Hoima, while middle and long-distance runners will train in Bukwo at the Uganda Athletics Camp as well as Arua Athletics Club.

Uganda Athletics President Dominic Otucet acknowledged that financial constraints have disturbed the federation’s preparation plans, delaying the athletes to enter in the camp.

Uganda won four of the five medals from the 2022 Birmingham Games with the other coming from boxing.

Despite the challenges, Athletics Uganda remains optimistic and confident that the country will again be made proud with medals from Glasgow.
