The Pearl of Africa Golf Series teed off at Entebbe golf club on Wednesday with the Pro-Am a day before the main championship.

South Africa’s Toto Thimba Junior won the Pro-Am with 43 points, ahead of Uganda’s Daniel Kalungi on 41 and Herbert Musinguzi on 40.
The tournament sponsored by Uganda Tourism Board seeks to use golf to promote Uganda as a sports tourism destination.
Over 30 Sunshine Tour pros are part of action and are expected to tour Uganda after the championship.
The main 54-hole event that is underway this Tuesday is expected to feature 130 players who will battle for USD 20,0000 purse and World Ranking points.
