Just a day after being named the Kitara FC Chief community resource mobiliser, Deo Kasozi has secured funds for season-long player bonuses. Kasozi, who was appointed in the capacity for two years effective 18th, August 2025 secured the money from a club’s fan Moses Arinaitwe commonly known as Gungu Boy. Kasozi also appointed Arinaitwe as the 1st deputy chief community resource mobiliser with immediate effect.
“In addition to deputizing me in mobilizing resources and driving community engagement programs, he has agreed to fund all winning bonuses for the club for a period of two years. As Kitara family, join me to congratulate him for this appointment and thank him for accepting to take up the burden of all winning allowances for the club,” read a statement released by Kasozi.
“My only role will be resource mobilization and this time, I think I will have enough time to engage with fans which I failed to do as the club president. I hope to organize a fundraising marathon, dinner, music festival to raise funds as well as door-to-door mobilization. The good thing is Kitara FC has generous fans and I have always been accountable to them,” added Kasozi, who asked the fans to look at him as a mobiliser and not a club president.
“I am on the club executive committee but I will not influence decisions. We have an interim president who appointed me. We shall mobilize resources, but also ask for value and accountability. The good thing is that the club operates on a manageable budget that it was under my reign,” Kasozi told this website.
Kasozi also appealed to fans to back the current administration led by interim president Gilbert Nyaika, assuring them of the club’s competitiveness and success.
He was to have club mobilisers in each district of Bunyoro subregion.
