Former Commonwealth Games champion Moses Kipsiro has defined Sebei sub-region’s failure to secure representation on the Uganda Athletics executive committee as disorganization within the region.

Despite Sebei sub-region being widely regarded as the cradle of Uganda’s top athletics talent, producing the country’s finest runners who have continued to shine on the global stage, the region holds no top representation on Uganda Athletics top decision-making committee.

Former Commonwealth Champion attributes this to lack of unity among leaders in the region.

“The failure of the region’s leaders to harmonize will affect the performance of the athletes,” he noted.

Uganda Athletics president, Dominic Otucet, stated that the positions at the executive committee are as a result of the elective general assembly.

Former Vice President Technical Benjamin Njia was replaced by Dr Michael Byaruhanga while Abdallah Muhammad lost his seat to David Namayo in some of the changes.

Athlete representation Godfrey Chanwengo pledged to prioritize athlete’s welfare and advocacy for the underprivileged talent.
