After his election as the Masindi municipality member of parliament, Federation of Uganda football associations (FUFA) Executive committee member Rogers Byamukama says that the sports fraternity has already started looking at him as a sports ambassador in the August House.

Byamukama was elected as the new Mansindi municipality member of parliament on the National resistance movement ticket during the recent general elections. He says that sports partly gave him a platform to victory.
He has been an advocate of sports infrastructure in Bunyoro subregion and with the government constructing a number of training grounds in the region for AFCON 2027, he prides himself in the feat.
“I am one of the best sports marketers in the country and I hope to use those skills to market sports to fellow legislators for the good of the sector,” he noted.
Despite being an advocate of sports, FUFA executive committee member in charge of marketing Rogers Byamukama says that it will not only be sports talk in parliament but the general issues affecting the community.

Byamukama joins FUFA President Moses Magogo in parliament as well as former Uganda netball president Sara Babirye Kityo who was voted the Bukoto East member of parliament.
Meanwhile, the Uganda boxing federation president Moses Muhangi says that will continue engaging in politics despite falling short of Kampala central parliamentary seat.
Muhangi returned unopposed as Uganda boxing federation president for another four-year term.
