The FUFA Women Super League trophy is embarking on a national tour dubbed “A Trophy with a Soul: Seeking Your Blessing for Uganda’s Football Daughters,” aimed at galvanizing support for women’s football in Uganda.
FUFA 3rd Vice President Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi unveiled the gold-coated trophy – which features a woman lifting a ball – calling it a powerful symbol of achievement and ambition for women in the sport.
Speaking at the tour’s launch on May 15, Nakiwala emphasized the emotional significance of the trophy, stating, “This trophy is not just a reward; it is a celebration of the spirit and brilliance of women in football… we also raise our commitment to the growth of the women’s game in Uganda.”.
She and Rogers Mulindwa (FUFA’s Deputy CEO for Competitions) will lead visits to influential women in various sectors to champion the cause.
Five former league champions are accompanying the tour to share their stories, and the campaign will include grassroots engagements – all part of FUFA’s push to inspire girls and secure greater investment in the women’s game.
