The Confederation of African football (CAF) has confirmed that matchday ticket sales for Saturday’s Quarter Final match between Uganda and Senegal has started this Wednesday, 20th August 2025.

To limit the likelihood of some people buying genuine online tickets and hoarding them to re-sale on the black market at exorbitant prices, CAF has reduced the number of tickets any one person can buy at a time to a maximum of three tickets.

Dr. Mugimba addresses the media

According to Dr. Denis Mugimba, the Uganda CHAN 2024 Local organizing committee spokesperson, this will also give more people the opportunity to buy tickets.

“We reiterate the message from CAF that all CHAN-2024 tickets are only available online. CAF has not availed any physical tickets for CHAN-2024 since Match Day one. If you are buying a physical ticket, there is a very good chance you have been duped and bought yourself either a fake or a duplicate ticket,” Mugimba revealed during the media briefing at the Uganda media center.

Relatedly, from a Security and Safety standpoint, CAF has instructed that fans who are deemed to be under the influence of any intoxicating substance such as alcohol as well as those displaying aggressive behaviour towards either fellow fans, Ticket Stewards, or Security Services, should not be allowed into Namboole stadium even though they hold a genuine ticket or Fan Parks.

Uganda that progressed out of the group for the first time takes on defending champions Senegal on Saturday night at the Namboole stadium in a much-anticipated fixture.
