Absa Bank Uganda has reaffirmed its commitment to golf with a UGX 185 million title sponsorship for the 8th edition of the Chairman’s Bell Golf Tournament.
The week-long tournament tees off Monday, July 13, 2026, with the main event on Saturday, July 18 at Uganda Golf Club, Kitante.
Absa MD David Wandera said that the sponsorship reflects belief in sport’s transformative power and the bank’s dedication to Uganda’s golf ecosystem.
This year’s edition will feature 30 professionals, 60 gross amateurs, and over 250 amateur players across various categories. A new highlight is the dedicated Caddies Tournament, giving caddies a platform to compete and progress.
There has been an introduction of a dedicated Caddies Tournament aimed at recognising and elevating the vital role caddies play in the sport.
The new category creates opportunities for caddies to develop their skills, gain exposure, and progress toward professional careers.
A total prize kitty of UGX 28 million has been set for winners in the Caddies, Gross Amateur, and Professional categories.
The event will also mark the formal transition of leadership from the outgoing Club Captain to the incoming Chairman.
