Amus College School is one of four teams that secured promotion to the FUFA Big League, Uganda’s second-tier football division. The school says it has solid plans in place and is ready to compete at a higher level, according to Sports Director Charles Nimrod Kintu.

Kintu says that it was a dream for the school to compete in the country’s top football structures.
Amus College recently won the national secondary schools boys’ football championship for the first time in its history, beating rivals Bukedea Comprehensive School in the 2026 final played in May.
Kintu says that success was built over a long period and came after the school had already achieved major milestones in youth football.
The school is destined to be a huge rival to powerhouse St Mary’s SS-Kitende who are celebrating their 25 years anniversary on July 4th.

Kintu says the milestone shows how remarkable is Kitende -given the overwhelming achievements.
He however, maintains that Amus College remains focused on implementing its own plans and objectives rather than measuring itself against others.
Kintu also supports FUFA’s initiative to establish a national football academy, saying that the program will play a significant role in nurturing young talent and strengthening the future of Ugandan football.
