Kampala central member of parliament aspirant Abraham Luzzi wants federations to prioritize talent development. Speaking to online Titi TV, Luzzi said that he had committed to investing in football but was disappointed by FUFA’s ‘baseless’ sanctioning.

Luzzi who was banned by FUFA for ten years in 2022 over match fixing allegations, also asked the football body to add a motivator and counsellor on the Uganda Cranes team to better performance.
He also questioned the manner in which officials outnumber athletes in some instances when national teams head for international competitions.
“I want us to divert the government official’s allowances to player bonuses. Why would the government fund a government official to go and enjoy a sports championship and the athletes get meager bonuses!” wondered Luzzi, who once invested in Police FC and paid for every Uganda Cranes goal.
He asked FUFA to lift his ban so as he can return and invest in Ugandan football.
“I add to the game of football, I bought more than 1000 soccer boots to players. It is painfulthat I can no longer give back to football. However much it is painful, if FUFA does not want me in football, it is ok. I will still enjoy my life. I am not interested in the FUFA presidency; perhaps I was feared to have that interest.”

Luzzi also advised Uganda’s respective contingents to international competitions to carry with them Ugandan possible exports so as markets for our local produce are sought.
“I want to see that every student undertakes a sport as a regulation and also I want a law that enforces every corporate company to invest in sports as part of their corporate social responsibility,” added Luzzi, who also wants every corporate company to have an attachment to sports in order to grow the sector.
