Defending champions Black Pirates are set for a high-stakes National Rugby Premiership final against Toyota Buffaloes this Saturday at the Kings Park Arena in Bweyogerere. Head coach Marvin Odong says his side is ready to embrace the pressure as they chase a fourth league title and a second successive championship.

Pirates booked their place in the final after edging Platinum Credit Heathens 36–30 on aggregate, surviving a second-leg defeat thanks to a commanding first-leg advantage. Odong has praised his players’ resilience after a difficult few weeks that came with the death of teammate Sydney Gongodyo after a mob action.
He believes the team is fully prepared for the title decider, aiming at winning it for the fallen Gongodyo.
However, Toyota Buffaloes side, who reached the final with a dominant 48–23 aggregate victory over Makerere Impis stand in Pirates’ way.

Seeking their first-ever Premiership crown, the Buffaloes have impressed throughout the season and believe they have what it takes to end the Pirates’ reign.
Buffaloes narrowly lost to Pirates at home in the regular but are confident they can turn the tables around against the favorites, according to captain Daniel Otim.
The final promises a thrilling contest between experience and ambition. While the Pirates aim for back-to-back titles and a fourth championship overall, the Buffaloes will be chasing a historic first league triumph.
