The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) will host the 18th edition of the Inter-Forces Games and Shooting Championship in Gulu City.
The games will bring together personnel from the UPDF, Uganda Police Force, Uganda Prisons Service and Uganda Wildlife Authority in a two-week competition aimed at promoting fitness, discipline and cooperation among the security agencies.
The games will run from August 22nd to September 5th at St Joseph’s college, Laibi with competition in football, volleyball and handball, netball, athletics, taekwondo, darts and range shooting.
The UPDF says the games will also provide an opportunity to identify and nurture sporting talent among security personnel, with some officers going on to represent Uganda in national and international competitions.
