The Ludo game fraternity in Uganda is mourning the death of Betty Nagadya, arguably Uganda’s finest female ludo player.

Nagadya, who represented the country severally in international tournaments breathed her last on September 1st, 2026 at Mulago referral hospital.
“Her pasing is therefore not only a loss to her family, but to the entire ludo and sporting fraternity. Her legacy as a player, champion, referee and administrator will remain part of history,” noted Hussein Kalule, the Uganda ludo federation president.

The late Nagadya was an exceptionally dedicated, accomplished and an influential member of the Uganda ludo family. Through her distinguished career, she made an invaluable contribution to the growth of and development of ludo nationally and internationally. Her commitment, discipline, leadership and outstanding achievements earned her great respect within the ludo in fraternity and the wider sports fraternity.
