Defending champions Kigulu county begin their title defense and a quest for a record fourth MTN Busoga Masaza Cup this Wednesday when they host two-time champions Butembe at Iganga Saza Grounds.

The two sides were drawn in the same group just as they were in the 2025 edition alongside Bunhole-Bunhanumba.
Kigulu dominated the meetings between the two sides last year, winning 2-0 before playing to a barren stalemate in the return leg.

Bunha registered their first win of this year’s edition, beating Bugabula 1-0 in the opening match of the tournament.
Bunha coach Arafat Kilege praised his team for their performance, describing it as a strong start while captain Ian Karonda said the squad is ready and determined to win this year’s title. Bugabula coach Peter Musoga said his players fought hard and showed real strength on the pitch, but Bunha proved sharper in front of goal.
