Woodball team camps in Bunjako ahead of 10th world cup

The national woodball is impressively responding to training in camp at Bunjako Beach in Buwama, Mpigi district ahead of the 10th woodball World cup due July 24-30 at the University of Malaysia.

Thomas Khedi, the men’s team skipper is happy with the attitude of players in the camp, saying that the teams are in good shape and focused to better the previous performance at the global stage.

“The camp is good and players are responding well to the training. We expect better results than previous World Camp,” said Khedi after the team received training kits from the Uganda Woodball Federation.

He noted that putting the team in the camp has helped the players to focus.

The team is made of eight male and female players under coach Onesmus Atamba and Benson Kanyesige.

The Team: Daniel Apita, Samson Rugongeza, Thomas Khedi (Cpt), Isaac Ariho, Isaac Nabugere, David Kabugo, Brian Gwaaka and Bridge Byamukama, Denise Nanjeru (Cpt), Christine Birungi, Joyce Nalubega, Joan Mukoova, Florence Mukoya, Babirye Nalwoga, Shakira Nagudi and Sanyu Mirembe.
