The Federation of Uganda football associations (FUFA) President has confirmed that the premier league clubs have been added to the visit to State House where President Museveni together with the First Lady, also minister of Education and sports Janet Museveni are set to host the Uganda Cranes CHAN team to a dinner this Wednesday, September 10th.

According to Magogo, the FUFA asked the president to in some way help the struggling clubs which he bought and thus need to have these clubs share dinner with the head of state.
“The Shs3.4bn we are investing in the premier league is not from the government but from FUFA’s own resources put together over time. But these clubs can get some substantial help from the government just as we have seen in other countries. It is something we asked the president and we are hopeful that he will come through, either immediately or in the process,” noted Magogo.
“We shall use every opportunity to lobby for the clubs and if given opportunity, I will present this to the president,” he added.

Through the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon Anita Among, the president is pledged Shs1.2bn for every Uganda Cranes win in the concluded CHAN 2024 tournament co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. Having won twice at the group stage to historically storm to the knockout stage for the first time in history, the CHAN team has Shs2.4bn from the president and could be richer with the sum on departure.
