The FUFA Drum tournament returned over the weekend with four games across various playgrounds. In Group A, West Nile Province edged Bugisu 1-0 on Sunday thanks to a sole Sadat Anaku goal.

Bugisu Province also suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Acholi in their previous game last weekend. Buganda Province who had drawn 3-3 with Ankole Province earlier, played out a goalless stalemate with reigning champions Lango Province.

Tooro Province needed a Joseph Ssemujju strike to overcome Kampala Province in a Group D contest at Wankulukuku. Bunyoro powered past Busoga 2-1 in the Group C game on Sunday. Karim Ndugwa netted a brace for Bunyoro while Sowedi Lwenda found Busoga’s only goal of the contest.

The well-attended tournament played across the eight provinces was established by FUFA to celebrate ancestry, promote sports tourism and tapping raw talents across the country.  Buganda, Acholi and West Nile are the respective previous champions.
