The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Regional Coordinator for Teso Sub-Region, Hon. Peter Ogwang, has described the PLU chairman Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba (MK) as the Protector and Defender of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) achievements in Uganda.
Speaking during the Lango Sub-Regional PLU endorsement launch held in Lira City, the minister of state for sports said that the achievements the NRM party has made over the last four decades can only be protected and defended by none other than Gen. MK.
“The achievements of peace and security, the Akii-Bua Stadium and many others can only be consolidated and protected by MK. I call upon all Ugandans to rally behind PLU and endorse MK as our next President,” Ogwang said.
He argued that the fight against corruption requires a fearless and disciplined leader like Gen. MK.
“We are saying, corruption can only be dealt by MK. Those stealing our UPE and USE money, those stealing our money for roads and health, can only be dealt by MK. Please, join us and wipe out corruption in our country,” he told the crowd.
Ogwang said Uganda’s quest for today and tomorrow remains one – to consolidate the gains so far made.
On matters of sports and Afcon, Min. Ogwang confirmed that the Akii-Bua Stadium will be ready as a Christmas gift for the people of Lango.
“I want to confirm to you, the Xmas gift for the people of Lango is Akii-Bua. We shall officially commission it before Christmas. This means Lira City will host AFCON 2027. MK is the only protector and defender of all NRM achievements in Uganda,” Ogwang added.
The regional Coordinator PLU Lango sub region, Dr. Ruth Aceng thanked the people of Lango for turning up in big numbers to endorse Gen. MK as the next President.
Aceng said the turnup signifies Lango’s support for MK.
“We are fully behind PLU and its Chairman. We do not want to be left behind when other regions are moving ahead”, She said.
The former Government Chief Whip Hon. Hamson Obua said, NRM and PLU are one. Museveni now, Muhoozi next.
The event attracted thousands of supporters from across Lango who turned up in PLU colors to endorse Gen. MK.
The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) is a civic organization chaired by Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who is also the Chief of Defence Forces of the UPDF.
