Uganda continues to impress at FEASSA Games

Ugandan sides met once again, with Jinja SS defeating St Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) in the ongoing Federation of East Africa schools sports association (FEASSA) games in Mologolo, Tanzania.

SMACK came into the game full of confidence after beating their rivals, Namilyango College, on Sunday morning.

Jinja SS remain the only unbeaten side, having picked up two wins and a draw. SMACK have recorded one win, while Namilyango College are still searching for their first victory.

In girls rugby, Jinja SS will settle for silver after Kenya’s Kinale claimed the title.

The competition was played in a round-robin format, with Jinja SS winning two of their three games, while their only defeat came against Kimobo from Kenya.

In cricket, Ugandan sides bounced back from their opening-day losses, with both Busoga College Mwiri and Sacred Heart recording victories on Monday.

Both Uganda sides are back inaction this Tuesday against Kenyan opposition.

There were impressive results in girls football with Amus College, Riness SS, Boni Consil all registering wins. Uganda was also competitive in athletics, basketball, netball and volleyball with St Mary’s SS-Kitende remaining a standout side.

The FEASSA Games involve secondary and primary schools as well as Special Needs Children. Hosts Tanzania, defending champions Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Burundi taking part in the perennial schools championship that is celebrating 23 years since inception.
