The newly appointed minister for local government has taken patriotism so far by claiming that the newly constructed Hoima City stadium is better that Arsenal’s Emirates stadium.

Balaam made the unbelievable remarks over the weekend as the cabinet led by Vice president Jessica Alupo and Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja and toured the facility as part of the induction process.
“Hoima city stadium is probably better than that of Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspurs. Actually, the class of our Hoima City stadium is close to Wembley – only that our capacity is 25000 while Wembley is close to 100,000. So, our stadium, I believe, one day those international clubs will come and train here or play against Uganda Cranes.

Balaam also called on the leaders in Bunyoro to help develop sport in the subregion.
“I will ask the minister of education to consider giving this stadium to Kitara fc so that it can be home ground for Kitara so that the stadium remains operations so that it makes money.
“Do not compare Namboole to Hoima, this one is a state of the art – everything in nice. I want to thank president Museveni for giving a stadium like this one,” added Balaam.
With capacity of 62,303, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is widely ranked as the best stadium in England while Wembley and Emirates fall in the top ten.
Hoima city stadium and Namboole stadium are the earmarked matchday venues for the AFCON 2027.
