The 2026 boxing champions league season gets underway this Saturday at club obligato with 27 bouts on the card after official weigh-in and medical examination this Friday.
Khemis Ibrahim from Kibuli Mutajjaz boxing club and Shafiq Nasasira of Police boxing club are the main fighters. This will also act as their second trial in their commonwealth elimination battle.
Despite Nasasira beating Khemis in the final to win the title last season, Khemis won the first trial during the national open final last month in Kamwokya, and winning this Saturday virtually confirms him for Glasgow games.
Uganda boxing federation has introduced fans prizes per fight night to win including among others TV sets, paint, woofers, and a brand-new car for VIP ticket holders.
Ahead of the season, the federation organized a coaches’ and referees four-day courses that climaxed on Friday at TLC in Kamwokya.
