The final day was also graced by the legendary Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo.

“For us we want to bring out that young talent that can be the future Kiplimo or Cheptegei. I am impressed with the turn up and the community that has come to cheer and support the young athletes. I always tell the young runners to believe in their talents and work hard towards achieving success,” noted Kiplimo, who alongside Cheptegei are getting ready for the 2026 London marathon due April 26th in the United Kingdom.

The 4th edition had a school race for under 10’s, 12’s and 15’s, the junior and senior men and women events.

Uganda Athletics president Dominic Otucet the run is very good for talent identification.

“You have seen young athletes inspired, some of them running for the first time. It is a good program that we want to attract athletes from all over the globe. It is also a recognition for the efforts of Jacob Kiplimo – a three-time straight world champion,” noted Otucet.
