The games were to kick off on 13th to 16th February 2026, according to Christopher Mugisha, the Uganda secondary schools sports association (USSSA) Chief Executive officer.

“In order to allow schools enough time for preparations after the athletes report on the 10th February, because Elite games are a precursor activity to give opportunities to schools to try out their players before the championships begin,” Mugisha told USSSA media.

The Ministry of Education and Sports, in light of the General Elections and to guarantee the safety of all learners, moved the schools reopening to Tuesday, 10th February 2026.

The Championship brings together the top 8 schools per discipline competing in at the 2025 National Championship.

The disciplines include football, Volleyball, basketball 5×5, basketball, 3×3, Rugby 7s, and netball.
