Magogo ranks AFCON Pamoja successful bid top of his achievements

The Federation of Uganda football associations (FUFA) president Eng. Moses Magogo says that despite achieving so much as the federation president, none makes him as emotional as realizing the dream of bringing AFCON to Uganda.

Magogo was with the state minister for sports Hon. Peter Ogwang as they received the CAF flag in Morocco as the next Afcon hosts in 2027. Uganda will co-host alongside Kenya and Tanzania.

“Despite achieving historic milestone as the federation president, none makes me as emotional as realising the dream of brining AFCON to Uganda in my lifetime. Welcome the world, welcome Africa to East Africa in genral and to our motherland Uganda in Particular,” Magogo noted.

Some of the key milestones under Magogo’s leadership include Taking Uganda Cranes back to AFCON after 40 years and taking the Crested Cranes back to AWCON after 22 years, building a stadium owned by the Federation at Kadiba,Qualifying various national teams 20 times to continental finals, taking the U17 national team to first World Cup ever, hosting CHAN in Uganda, legislating to create direct government funding of national teams, legislating the Private members’ bill to create the 2023 National Sports Act, causing Government to renovate and construct international standard stadiums in Namboole, Hoima city, and Akii Bua with over 12 training facilities, starting and Providing Medical Insurance for the players and referees of the top men and women leagues in Uganda, stabilizing governance structures of FUFA that neutralised football wars among others.
