Abbey Nasur, the former Prisons star who won Uganda three Cecafa titles and featured for Uganda Cranes in 1974 and 1978 Afcon finals passed away on Saturday, 18th, January 2025at his home in Naguru Remand II cell in Nakawa Division.

Nasur lived his last life in a sorry state in Naguru ghettos, surrounded by stinking gutters and poor housing units.
The 73-year-old was put to rest along 21KMs at Bombo Road around Governor Nassur cemetery areas.
Late last year, Nakawa Division mayor Paul Mugambe, through a social media post, had called upon government, FUFA and well-wishers to come to Nasur’s rescue who has no hope of medication despite lifting the Ugandan flag high and remaining a popular figure in Ugandan football.
Abbey Nasur Muteguya played for Young Salumbey, Naguru Youth, Prisons FC, Maragoli FC and Gor Mahia Football in Kenya.
He then coached several clubs in Uganda and Kenya (Coffee Board of Kenya, Metal Box, Stima, Impala Aliwatanya and Gor Mahia. In Uganda he coached KCC and Maji FC.
