Mensulamu Magemeso of Luuka and Kigenyi Hussein of Bunha emerged winners of the Mountain Bike and Tippa bicycle categories respectively during the 2025 MTN Busoga Masaza cycling championships grand finale held in Bugembe on Saturday.
The finals were flagged off by the Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Gabula Nadiope IV, at the Busoga Kingdom Headquarters in Bugembe.
A total of 66 cyclists from eleven chiefdoms competed, covering over 170 kilometers across different parts of the kingdom.
MTN Uganda rewarded the two category winners with brand new motorcycles while the runners up took home cash prizes.
Busoga Sports Minister Amin Bbosa said the championship focuses on talent development and unity among the Busoga chiefdoms.
This year’s MTN Busoga Masaza Cycling Championships ran under the theme “Men are the pillars in stopping teenage pregnancies” and were aimed at fostering grassroots sports and talent identification within the kingdom.
