Former national team captain Habib Ssebuguzi emerged as the biggest casualty of the final round of the Nile Special National Pool Open Championship qualifiers after failing to secure a place at Lugogo for this Saturday’s action.
Ssebuguzi suffered a heavy 5–0 defeat to Julius Ssemanda Bisimba in the second round at iTaano Arena in Mukono, where he also serves as the venue manager.

However, there was a reprieve for his Scrap Buyers teammate Lawrence Ssengonge, who squeezed through under dramatic circumstances.
Ssengonge had been eliminated in Wandegeya at Casablanca, but his conqueror Bruno Kabuga was later found guilty of double registration and was consequently struck off the final list.
A total of 120 male players and 28 female players make it to the final.
