Veteran Racheal Nanyonga has been included in the She Cranes squad for the 2026 Commonwealth Games scheduled for next month in Glasgow, Scotland. Nanyonga had previously been denied a UK visa after earlier UK visa violations.

Netball Uganda president Jocelyne Ucanda says that Nanyonga remains the team captain despite missing out the trip to Celtic cup.
“Last time when we applied for her visa she was unfortunate that the visa was not offered but we believe that this year, the visa will be offered because the reason hey last time were all fulfilled and we are confident that she will get the visa,” she explained.
The She Cranes started Glasgow Games preparations last month at the Hamz Nakivubo stadium – a venue that Jocelyn Ucanda, the Netball Uganda president described as the home of Uganda netball.

“Nakivubo stadium is location in the central area for easy accessibility and better convenience. There are service providers in that place and also for the safety of the team. They have available service providers to ensure that the players are safe,” noted.
Netball Uganda summoned a total of 20 players from which the final 12 will be selected.
