Namuwongo Blazers have formally tasked the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) to postpone Wednesday’s Game Six of the National Basketball League Men’s Finals against City Oilers until their protest over City Oilers’ player eligibility is resolved.

The defending champions formally communicated days after lodging a protest over the nationality and eligibility of six City Oilers players following Sunday’s 78-73 defeat in Game Five.
The Oilers lead the best-of-seven series 3-2 and need one more victory to reclaim the NBL title.
Away from requesting that Game Six be postponed until the matter is fully determined, Namuwongo Blazers also asked for sufficient time to make logistical and sporting preparations for Games Six and Seven should the series schedule subsequently be altered.
Namuwongo argued that allowing Game Six to proceed before a determination on their protest would prejudice the club and potentially compromise the fairness and integrity of the finals series.
City Oilers are one win away from their 11th championship while Namuwongo need to win to force a decisive Game Seven.
