The Minister of State for Education and Sports (Sports), Peter Ogwang flagged off the second Presidential CEO Run at Coco Beach, Entebbe on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
The Minister who is also the MP for Ngariam County, Katakwi district also participated in the 5KM race alongside CEOs, partners, and members of the public.
The run was organized to raise funds in support of children with disabilities at Entebbe Children Welfare Primary School.

According to the chief organizer, Irene Birungi Mugisha, the CEO of the presidential CEO forum, all proceeds from this year’s event will go directly towards improving learning facilities, therapy services, and general welfare for the pupils at the school.
Minister Ogwang who pledged Shs10m towards the cause through the National council of sports (NCS), extended his appreciation to the CEO, Birungi and all fellow CEO’s who came together to make this initiative a success.
“Your commitment to giving back and promoting the well-being of vulnerable children in our communities is truly commendable. It was such an historic moment for me. I ran for 5KMs and finished successfully,” Ogwang said.

Ogwang asked NCS to work closely with the Presidential CEO Forum to ensure better planning, mobilization, and execution of the next edition of the Presidential CEO Run.
“Such initiatives remind us that when the private sector, government, and the community come together, we can create real impact and change the lives of those who need us most” Ogwang stressed.
Birungi commended the minister and the leadership of Entebbe City for always supporting such initiatives that support vulnerable children.
