The National Primary Schools Ball Games and Special needs education (SNE) Championship, which brings together primary schools from across the country, is underway in Mubende District.

Officials responsible for sports in Mubende say all the necessary preparations are in place to ensure that the tournament runs smoothly.
Uganda Primary Schools Sports Association (UPSSA) president William Bwambale, explained the purpose of the tournament, saying that his is the first time the tournament is being held in the central region of Uganda.
He is optimistic that the competition will help identify and develop sporting talent among children across the country.
He urged parents to encourage their children to participate more in sports, saying it is one of the pathways they can use to build a brighter future.

Mubende district Sports Officer Ssaka Robert says that the district has everything required to successfully host the tournament.
He says that Mubende will continue to promote and develop children’s talents in different sports disciplines.
The tournament will run for 10 days with the climax scheduled for 4th next month.
