St Mary’s Kitende aims at Boys football and netball titles

St Mary’s Kitende has emerged as the only Ugandan school to reach the semi-finals of the boys’ football competition at the 2026 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games in Morogoro, Tanzania.

Kitende secured its place in the last four after defeating hosts Tanzania’s Nsumba Secondary School 1–0 in a tightly contested quarter-final played at Jamhuri Stadium on Wednesday.

Amus College School and Kyadondo Secondary School fell in the quarterfinals.

In girls’ football, Uganda has qualified three schools to the semifinal level.

Rines Secondary School, Boni Consili Vocational & Secondary School and Amus College School are the three schools joined by Rwanda’s PSB Huye in the semifinals.

In netball, the final showdown for Netball two Ugandan sides, St Mary’s Kitende and Hamdan Islamic School face off in the final.

The battle for bronze is between St Noa Girls Zana (Uganda) and Kenya’s Bukokholo.

Meanwhile, Standard High Zana have already scooped the beach soccer girls title.

Uganda was already training in medal tally by the end of Wednesday having secured 8 gold medals in Netball, Table Tennis boys and girls, Badminton boys and girls, Scrabble girls, Beach soccer girls and Tennis boys.

Kenya that wants to dethrone the six-time consecutive champions had won 12 gold medals in Athletics boys and girls, Cross-country boys and girls, Rugby 15s boys and girls, Rugby 7s boys, Hockey boys and girls, scrable boys and Lacrosse boys and girls
