She Cranes to camp in Johannesburg ahead of Glasgow Games

Commonwealth Games association Uganda President Dr. Donald Rukare is confident Team Uganda will put up a winning performance at this year’s Glasgow Commonwealth Games scheduled to commence next month.  

He was speaking to the She Cranes team during their training at the hockey grounds in Lugogo.

Netball Uganda’s confirmed the final 15-woman squad for the games with veteran Rachael Nanyonga retained as the captain under coach Rashid Mubiru.

The She Cranes will have a ten-day residential camp at the Jeph University indoor courts in Butabika before five-day camping in Johannesburg where they will have test matches against South Africa.

The 15 players include; Mary Nuba, Shadiah Nassanga, Racheal Nanyonga, Alice Isoto, Margaret Bagala, Lillian Achola, Mercy Batamuliza, Hindu Namutebi and Joan Ryekoboth.

Others are; Shafie Nalwanja, Gloria Ayaa, Christine Nakitto, Hanisha Muhammed, Nasimu Mutesi and veteran Stella Nanfuka.
