Nkumba University Ladies Football team has identified preparations for the All Africa University Games scheduled to take place from August 9th to 16th, 2026, in Cairo, Egypt.
The Beach Girls carry confidence into the tournament after clinching the 2026 International Women’s Day Inter-University Championship.
Despite the early preparations, the university side has a financial shortfall which has left them with no choice but rather to make a financial support appeal.
Dr. Bbossa Sulaiman, the University Vice Chancellor and head of fundraising committee, appealed to various stakeholders, corporate entities, sports lovers, almuni and well-wishers to financially support the team, citing the high costs involved in facilitating travel and participation in the tournament.
The annual games organized by the Federation of African University Sports (FASU) bring together top-performing university teams from across Africa.
The team boasts experienced players, including several who have previously represented Uganda at continental competitions. This experience is what gives head coach Emmanuel Amagu confidence.
The Beach Girls will be aiming to make a strong impression at the All Africa University Games as they seek to bring continental glory back home.
