Christine Namulumba Kango has been crowned the May best netball player at the Real Stars sports awards held on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026. This comes after her remarkable performances with the Prisons netball club at the East African Club Championship in Nairobi.

Namulumba who had spent six months out injured before the regional contest says that passion for the sport is pushing her to become better.
In Athletics, Ugandan steeplechase star Peruth Chemutai was crowned the best after securing back-to-back Women’s 3,000-meter Steeplechase victories at the Wanda Diamond League meetings in China.
Footballer Allan Okello was also crowned best footballer after an outstanding month with Young Africans SC in Tanzania where he scored seven goals.
Teenager Muhirwa Alvin claimed the Chess accolade after not only won gold but also earned the prestigious FIDE Master title during the African Youth Chess Championship hosted in Uganda.
Okello is currently with the Uganda Cranes in Morroco ahead of the upcomign friendly games against Tanzania this Friday and Madagascar next Monday.
