NEC hold Vipers as Kigozi fires UPPC past Mbarara City

The Uganda premier league continued yesterday with three fixtures at different grounds. In Entebbe, Ambrose Kigozi scored his 9th goal of the season as Entebbe Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) beat visiting Mbarara City 1-0.

Recording the 10th victory of the season in 17 outings, Entebbe UPPC made it 34 points and climbed to third place on the 16-team log while Zaid Byekwaso’s Ankole Lions suffered their 8th defeat of the season as they remained 12th on 15 points from 17 games.

In Hoima, Buhimba United Saints held Police to a 1-1 draw. The hosts scored through Wishington Nyonyintono while the visiting Police got the opener through Reagan Male.

Buhimba is 13th with 15 points while Police are 4th on 32 points.

In Kitende, the NEC FC held table leaders Vipers SC to a 1-1 draw. Skipper Milton Karisa opened the scoring for the home side before Warren Bbuule netted NEC FC’s equalizer.

 The 5th stalemate of the campaign leaves the Venoms on top with 38 points, just three above second placed Kitara that have a game in hand while NEC are 7th with 24 points.
