After being re-elected as the Uganda woodball federation president, Paul Mark Kayongo says that focus will be on strengthening governance, increased international relations, and improving infrastructure.

Kayongo was re-elected for a third term during the delegates assembly held on Saturday in Nakawa.
Uganda remains a pioneer woodball playing nation in Africa as it also boasts seven appearances at the woodball World Cup during the sport’s 17-year existence in the country.
Kayongo whose new tenure goes to 2029 has been at the helm of woodball in the country since its arrival in the country and has spearheaded woodball spread across the country through institutions and schools.
“Woodball as a sport is in its infancy and rubbing shoulders with traditional sport has not been an easy journey. But as much as woodball is a young sport in the country, it is very fast growing,” noted Kayongo.
“We want to focus on the governance and spreading the sport across the country in conformity to the new sports law that requires at least 75% national coverage to attain a sports federation license,” he added.
There was also a moment to award the outgoing and long serving executive members.

Kato Adam Juma was elected the General Secretary, Kirya Lukman is the new Vice president, Enid Joy is the second Vice president, Mathias Kalema is the treasurer while Gloria Koli is the Assistant General secretary. Ramathan Nagoso and Sylvia Kembabazi are the men and women athletes representatives respectively while Johnson Were is the appointed Publicity secretary. Fredrick Busulwa is the technical director.
The Uganda Woodball Federation is the body mandated to promote and develop woodball across the country.
