President Museveni pledged Shs1.2bn for every victory that the Uganda Cranes will record at the ongoing CHAN tournament that kicked off in Uganda on Monday, August 4, 2025 at the Namboole stadium.
“The president is going to give the Uganda Cranes Shs1.2bn for every win at CHAN. Let the players make us proud. This shows how the president loves Uganda and the Uganda Cranes,” revealed Anita Among, the Speaker of Parliament.
The presidential pledge came after the Speaker had a day earlier visited the camp and extended USD20,000 to the team on top of pledging the same amount for every win.
During the impromptu visit to the Uganda Cranes on Sunday, the Speaker urged the players to give their best effort to raise Uganda’s flag high on the continental stage.
The Speaker also conveyed the support of H.E. the President, whom she referred to as Uganda football’s number one fan.
