EYES ON THE MONEY: Hamz Cup tournament hits round of 16

The 2025 Hamz Cup football tournament has gotten to the best level of competition with the round of 16 commencing this Wednesday at the Hamz Nakivubo Stadium.

The first round of 16 game has Numark/Life Team taking on Zaina textiles.

HakimKasirye, the tournament coordinator told this website that the games will be played every Wednesday until 12th November.

“We now have the teams to offer the fans the best entertaining and competitive football. Traders should come and support their teams and also support local talents,” he said.

In the other round 06 fixtures, MM plaza/Spanish Tiles takes on City Mall on October 1st, Kafumbe Mukasa play French plaza on October 8th, Bodaboda Union takes on Arrows FC on October 15th, ISB Towers faces Mutaasa Kafeero on October 22nd, Pentagon/Maria Cargo plays Namirembe Tausi park/Iteka services on October 29th, Hanifah Towers takes on White House on November 5th while Vienna arcade plays Roza Arcade/Kafumbe 2 on November 12th.

Dr. Hamis Kiggundu (C) injected over Shs200m in the tournament

The Hamz Cup football tournament was initiated by Dr. Hamis Kiggundu, the Ham Enterprises CEO, to bring together the Kampala business community and also attract the business community back to supporting Ugandan football.

With a Shs100m total prize money, the winners have Shs50m at stake while the second, third and fourth placed sides will take Shs25m, Shs15m and Shs10m respectively on top of numerous individual awards.
