The Uganda Olympics committee is set to start the national Olympic games.
The plans to start the National Olympic Games by the end of this year were revealed during the Uganda Olympic Committee Annual General Assembly held over the weekend in Kampala.

Godwin Kayangwe, the UOC Vice president in charge of admiration says that they are looking at having the games at the end of the year for about ten days with only Olympics sports involved.
“We sent out forms to different federation to have feedback on the games on ideas of when should the games be, how often should they be hosted and for how long should these games be,” noted Kayangwe, who revealed that is may be hard to have all the 34 games in the inaugural edition based on the resource envelope.
Hoima City stadium has been earmarked as the venue to host the games since Namboole stadium is more likely to be closed for renovation while Hoima City stadium has an indoor arena to host indoor games.
Kayangwe says that the confirmation to the games should be six months to the games. UOC intends to make the games relevant – as qualifiers to Olympics and Commonwealth games.
UOC has appealed to the government to fund the games so as they can have commercial attachment to make them more appealing.
