SIX MEDALS: Uganda impresses at the 4th African Youth Games

Uganda concluded its 4th African Youth Games campaign in Luanda, Angola with a total of 6 medals, including two silver and 4 bronze medals.

In athletics, Baskaline Cherotwo won silver in the 1500m event while Keren Chelimo grabbed bronze in the women’s 3000m.

In breakdance, George Ntulume also took silver, marking Uganda’s first-ever medal in the sport at the Games.

In table tennis, Joseph Sebatindira and Jemimah Nakawala won bronze in the singles and team event.

On his visit to the Uganda’s camp, Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) and Commonwealth Games president Dr. Donald Rukare expressed gratitude to the Government of Uganda through National council of sports (NCS), Nnational associations, coaches, families, partners and athletes for their unwavering hard work.

Uganda sent a team of 13 athletes to Angola participating in 5 disciplines, including athletics, basketball (3X3), break dance, swimming, and table tennis.
