Uganda’s National Swimming Team has returned to the country after once again asserting its dominance in the East African region, winning the overall title at the Africa Aquatics Zone 3 Swimming Championships in Nairobi, Kenya.

The team amassed a total of 3,933 points, ahead of hosts Kenya and third-placed Tanzania. The four-day championship featured competitions for juniors, seniors, and masters.
Uganda Olympic Committee President Dr. Donald Rukare and team captain Ampaire Namanya expressed pride in Uganda’s performance.
The 33-man team masters trophy came back with a runners’ overall trophy.
Uganda will host the next edition of the Zone 3 Swimming Championships in October next year.
