Ahead of the 2025 Nile Special national pool open grand final due this Saturday, 21st December at the Lugogo arena, the draws for the finalists are set for this afternoon at the host venue.

Among those anticipated to fire up the arena is current seed one Joseph Kasozi. The Sharpshooter is known for his precision, firepower, focus and attacking game.

Turigye Jonan, aka Joker, is a trailblazer in Ugandan pool who set the bar high by winning two titles. He claimed the inaugural Open in 2010 and later claimed the first-ever car prize in 2013.

Lubulwa Simon, aka “Computer” is another force to be reckoned with in the Ugandan pool. His precision and skill have made him a perennial favorite to win the national championship, but luck has consistently eluded him.

Wagaba Rashid, aka Dog City, is a fierce competitor with an attacking style while 2012 winner Alfred Gumikiriza aka Black Sheep wants to have at least one more shot at another title. Gumikiriza won the title a year before the car prizes were introduced.

Bwanika Mansoor, aka Muto (De Champ) saves his beast mode for the biggest stage, and he’s bringing his best to defend the title he won last year. The two-time champion opens up against experienced Amos Ndyagumanawe.

Ssejjemba Ibra, aka Killer, is back and he’s gunning for revenge after losing at the final last year.  Ibra’s recent form’s on point, and he’s itching to strike.

Chandiga Caesar, aka Da Scorpion, is back and he’s hungrier than ever.  The Chinese Heyball Ambassador is switching to Blackball this Sunday as his mastery remains unmatched.

With attack and defense in his arsenal, Caesar remains among the favorites to take the 2025 crown.

Seed one Joseph Kasozi

In ladies, Kisakye Marion, aka Ankah, is geared up to defend her throne. The current female seed one will rely on her defense and accuracy.

Mukono pool club captain Amina Faith Nganda wants to better her 1sr runners-up position of 2023 while Nimusiima Ritah eyes a second crown.

Naiga Rukia’s got to bite between her teeth! Fresh from a string of international and local tournament wins, the former champion is after her record second national title and car.

Nabafu Zaimati is a seasoned pool star who has consistently proven her mettle in the sport. She is a regular performer in big tournaments and her attacking style is a joy to watch.

Rasheedah Mutesi aka Kikadde is a top favorite this year, having lost twice in the final including last year against her older sister Lukia Naiga.

Mutesi is on a mission for redemption after heartbreaks in the 2022 and 2023 final against Nimusiima Ritah and her sister Naiga Rukia respectively.

The number three ranked Mutesi has proven her mettle in PAU tournaments, but the national Open remains her holy grail after losing to Zaimati Nambafu at the round of 32 last year.

A total of 128 male players and 64 females qualified to play at the grand finale that will be broadcast live on NBS Sport.
