Kenya’s Mercy Nyachama was crowned the 2025 Johnnie Walker Uganda golf ladies open following her sudden death victory at the Lugazi Hills Golf course.

Nyachama needed a sudden death victory during the second attempt on the par-3 hole 8 after tying with Tanzania’s Neema Olomi with 230 strokes apiece in 54 holes played over three rounds.
Tanzania’s Neema Olomi came second, Uganda’s Marther Babirye came third, Kenya’s Ashley Awuor came 4th while last year’s winner Didi Madina from Tanzania finished distant fifth.
Meanwhile, Christine Abbo won the bronze category with 154 gross over two rounds. Ruth Pamella Akello, with 166, was the runners up.

Golfers and guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner and colorful prize giving ceremony adjacent hole 18 courtesy of sponsors Johnnie Walker.
The 2025 Johnnie Walker Uganda Golf Open series continues with the 84th amateurs open teeing off on Wednesday, 3rd September to 6th September 2025 at the same venue.
