UP FOR IT: Cranes start preparations for Mozambique, Somalia ties

The Uganda Cranes start their preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers this Monday, 1st September, 2025 at Namboole stadium. Head coach Paul Put summoned a 28-man squad that is accommodated at the Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi.

Scotland-based striker Uchechukwu Ikpeazu Mubiru was the latest to arrive this morning, joining other foreign-based who arrived earlier including Kenneth Semakula, Joseph Mpande, Ronald Ssekiganda, Denis Omedi and Travis Mutyaba. 

The 11 local-based players are also in camp while Nafian Alionzi, Rogers Mato, Elio Capradossi, Salim Jamal and Denis Onyango are expected to jet in today.

Uganda faces Mozambique this Friday before facing Somali three days later. The tickets for the first match have come to the market today and will be sold online.
