FUFA has confirmed the exit of Ali Mwebe, who has been serving as the federation’s development director since 2018. During the FUFA ordinary assembly President Eng. Moses Magogo told the delegates that Mwebe had moved to FIFA as the regional technical consultant – East and Central Africa.
“Ali Mwebe has been very instrumental in developing and implementing our 2023-2030 technical master plan that will change the way football is played in Uganda. By the way, Mwebe is no longer with FUFA. He moved to FIFA as the regional technical consultant and we congratulate him,” noted Magogo, who must be proud of Mwebe as one of the many human resource development success stories under his past 12-year tenure.
Mwebe, who was formerly a FUFA competitions director, has gradually grown through the ranks under Magogo leadership that has granted him opportunities to study abroad.

Among many other qualifications, Mwebe has a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management at Leipzig University in Germany. He is also a Sports science graduate from Kyambogo University and a CAF Beach Soccer Referees’ Instructor.
He graduated from the first edition of FIFA’s prestigious Technical Leadership Diploma.

Mwebe will among others be FIFA’s ambassador on technical development, manage relationships with member associations, have regular and constant contact with technical directors and first point of technical development matters, execute the amateur football environment analysis, assist in the implementation of talent development scheme, induction visits for new technical directors, assist in setting up structure of technical departments in member associations, planning and executing of FIFA programs, assistance in the recruitment of technical leaders and coordination of project management activities.
