Lugazi football club has confirmed that Steven Bogere and Francis Mugerwa have been relieved of their duties as Co – Head Coaches of the senior team with immediate effect after coming short of the club’s expectations.

The club has also taken a decision to dissolve the entire technical team that includes; assistant coach Gerald Efiti, goalkeeping coach Kizza Adam, statistician Alex Mugabi, and team doctor – Jude Ssempijja.
“On behalf of everyone at Lugazi FC, the club would like to thank Mugerwa, Bogere, and their staff for all their efforts during their time with the club. A new head coach will be named before our next league game, and there will be no further comment until the appointment is made,” part of the statement released by the club reads.
Lugazi are third from the bottom of the table with 10 points from 11 matches this season.
They lost 2–1 at home to Vipers SC last week, a result that stretched their winless run to five games.
They visit NEC FCon matchday 12 scheduled for January 7 2026 at Lugogo.
