After ending his tenure as the Kitara FC president, Deo Kasozi confirmed that he would take a private sports business investment.

Kasozi left the club presidency early this month of June, after three successful years in which the club won the FUFA Big league and Uganda Cup titles, playing at the continent for the first time, brand growth and most significantly acquisition of a home ground in Butema-Hoima.

Speaking to the Sports Torch, Kasozi revealed that he wants to establish an institution for both academies and sports, drawing inspiration from Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, the Vipers SC President, who is also the executive director of the school football powerhouse St Mary’s SS, Kitende.

He says that he is inspired by Dr. Mulindwa’s passion for sports, generosity and investment.

“I really look up to Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa. He loves sports and he needs special recognition for his investment in sports. Look at his school- the best in sports, his Vipers SC is a model club in Uganda. To me, he is the best sports investor in the country to look up to,” noted Kasozi.

“We have always created rivalries whenever Vipers face Kitara, but it was good for the league and our fans. Mulindwa likes stiff competition by the way- and that is another thing I like about him,”

Although Kasozi does not open up on what his upcoming project will be, this website has learned that the lawyer is building a multibillion 15-acre secondary school in Sseeta-Mukono that will also house a football academy in direct emulation of Mulindwa.

“I want Mulindwa to see me grow to his level or even better as a person who admires him,” Kasozi reservedly hints.

Kasozi also refuted reports that he eyed an elective football position in the FUFA assembly, saying that his eyes are on the business side of the sport.
